Professional Development Days
What is happening on all of those professional development days?

This year, we are fortunate to have 10 professional development days built into the school calendar. We appreciate the opportunity for this time in order to move the district forward at a much quicker pace than if time is limited. Please see the article "Initiatives Take Time" for more thoughts on the utilization of these days.
One of my duties as Director of Curriculum and Staff Development is to engage teachers in activities that are valuable in implementation of initiatives that focus on student achievement. Each professional development day requires a tremendous amount of planning in order to make sure that 100 teachers in 3 buildings are all working on the important issues affecting our students.
