Andrea Von Kampen is the September Fine Arts Student of the Month for September
SHS Senior, Andrea Von Kampen, was selected the SHS Fine Arts Student of the Month for September. She has been involved in the SHS Musical for three years, the SHS Swing Choir for four years, the SHS Select Choir for four years and numerous vocal solo presentations. She is a four year member of the SHS Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band and various solo presentations. She won the NFWC District IV Music Contest in the area of vocal presentation and was a representative in the All State Music program and participated in Concordia University’s Fine Arts Day. She is one of the choreographers for the SHS Swing Choir.
Andrea participated in the VFW Voice of Democracy Speech Contest, the SHS Poetry Out Loud competition and has been involved in the SHS One Act plays for all four years of her high school career.
She has been the song leader at the St. John Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School, solos in church at St. John’s and involved in many of the music programs in her church-St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. She is also employed by Living Word Church in Seward as a music leader. She was also a vocal participant in the recent Lutheran National Youth Gathering.
Andrea has been involved in the Seward Concordia Community Chamber Summer Youth Choir for the last four years and also is a featured vocalist at the Seward Fourth of July Celebration.
She is the daughter of Dr. Kurt and Dory von Kampen of Seward.
